First things first
Know how well your business is going to perform. Have a solid idea of how long it will take for your new business or expansion idea to achieve profitability, before you commit time and treasure to it. Feasibility planning will be the best money you will ever spend on your business because it will give you the clarity and confidence you need to make the challenging decisions ahead.
Through a workshop and review process, we will establish how much your business can make, how many customers you will need to reach breakeven, and how long it will take to get there. If it turns out that your idea isn't workable, you will know that too. It's better to know a day early than a day late.
Before you sign a lease, purchase inventory or equipment, invest in clarity and confidence through our business feasibility study. Those who avail themselves of a feasibility study will receive significant discounts should they continue on to have us create their business plan.

There are two main reasons to write a business plan; to obtain funding and to create a roadmap for running your business. It need not take a long time to write a business plan that will yield solid results, whether the future unfolds the way your plan does or not. The very act of writing a plan will take you through several scenarios and get you thinking about what to do when things roll out as you plan, but more importantly, if they don't.
We encourage our clients to look at their business plan as a living document that they update as their business changes.
We help you clarify your goals and create a fundable business plan for Small Business Administration (SBA) and commercial loans or private investment. Because we have worked with many area banks, we are well acquainted with the types of businesses each is comfortable with and what a plan needs to look like to support your funding request. We can create a business plan in seven to ten working days.
The Process

First is a free consultation where we discussion your business idea and determine if we can be of assistance to you. If we agree to go forward, you will be fully briefed on the process and presented with a contract that clearly states what work will be performed and when it will be completed. You will also receive a information preparation check list and document overview for the workshop.
Then we hold a two to four hour workshop to clarify your goals, determine your business' earning capacity, discuss your marketing approach and operations, including financials. for a discussion of the business plan outline and information required.
In the next step we create the financial model, a summarized three year projection that will show you, and your investors clearly how, using conservative assumptions, the business will service its debt and generate profit.
Next comes the narrative document which includes an Executive Summary and funding request, descriptions of the company's operations, staffing and equipment requirements. Additional attention is given to the marketing elements of the plan. Photos, graphics and summary information is added as it assists in building the storyline.
We also offer a funding search where we shop your plan to local banks, allowing you to get your plan seen without having to fill out applications first. This can be an enormous time savings to you.
We stand behind our work. If you need any changes to your plan while you are seeking funding, we make them at no additional cost.

Expansion business plans follow the process described above in the section The Process, above. The fundamentals are the same for start up and expansion plans where they differ is that an existing company has current operations and a history that is positive, neutral or negative.
The challenge for a plan seeking funding for an expansion or working capital is to discuss how the history affects current and future operations. If the prior experience was negative, the plan needs to discuss the lessons learned and how they will be applied to the business after funding. If neutral or positive, the plan should illustrate how the prior results are a spring board for even better results.
The most important thing is that the past results of your business cannot be ignored, so present them in the best possible light.
There is an additional step not included in a start up business plan, that is, the compilation and review of your prior profit and loss statements, income tax returns and other financial documents to determine the run rate and profitability of your business in its current state so when new projections are created they make sense compared with where you company is coming from.
