This program is offered in a workshop setting, via the internet or in person, where you and a small group of participants are walked through the business plan creation process, receiving guidance and support at every step until your plan is completed.

Step 1 - Business Plan Overview and Capacity Modeling Workshop

You will receive a complete briefing on what a business plan is, what should be included and how it should be packaged. You will also be taken through the details of the program.

In this session, you will create a capacity model that will show you what you can expect to earn from your business. You will also learn what type of funding you should seek.

Step 2 - Pro Forma Financial Projections Workshop

Financial projections are the most important part of a business plan and is usually the biggest obstacle in completing the plan. We will give you a model that you complete by estimating revenue and expenses. The best part: We walk you through it step by step to make sure you'll get it right.

Step 3 - Industry and Marketing Workshop

You will determine what industry your business is in, learn how to find statistics and facts about your industry as well as trends that could affect your business. You will then identify your competition, locate them and learn about them. Most important, we will help you pinpoint your customer so you can identify and discuss the differences and advantages your business has over your competition.

Step 4 - Business Plan Narrative Workshop

The workshop will discuss the remaining sections of the business plan left to develop, including the all important executive summary. In this section, you will learn what should be included and in how much detail. You will be provided examples of business plans to pattern your document after.

When you complete the business plan, you will send it to us for review and comment.

Step 5 - Individual Plan Review

When we have reviewed your business plan, we will have an individual plan review to help identify any areas needing adjustment or correction. At the end of this process, you will have a completed business plan ready for a bank or investor!

FAQs:

How many people are in a workshop?: Generally three to five. If there are people doing make up sessions we may go as high as seven.

What if I miss a workshop? Workshops are offered on each step weekly and are scheduled as new participants sign up, so if you miss a workshop, simply call and reserve a spot at the next scheduled workshop.

Can I take a workshop over if I have trouble with it? Yes. The most important thing is that you get a plan that you understand and will work. You can take any workshop as many times as you need to for six months.

I have to stop working on my business plan for a few months, can I get a time extension? Yes, just let us know and we'll stop the clock until you're ready to go.

Who is actually producing the business plan? You are, with our coaching and guidance. You are the best person to develop the plan and you will be a better business person once you've done it.

I've got an idea that I don't want to share with others in a small group. Can I work one on one? Yes, we do offer the program on an individual basis, see below.

What if I decide I want to work one on one or have you write it? You can make those choices at any time, and the amount paid will be credited against the new program

Why is this a better value than the group course?: When we work in group sessions, the time is divided between the participants. In the Individual program, all the time in every workshop is yours.

When can I schedule my appointments?: At any available time that would have your workshop start between 7:00am and 6:00pm, PST, Monday through Friday.

Can I have weekend or off hour appointments?: Yes, subject to prior scheduling, we will take individual workshops with starting times before 7:00am or after 6:00pm for a $50 surcharge per session. Weekend sessions have $100 per session surcharge.
